“Stop! Too much solar power”, Another angle, by Krish

If found the argument in the article Stop! Too much solar power highly challengeable. A very responsible German official said that excessive solar power generated by the consumer solar power generation system was overloading the national grid.  This had resulted in the  German government cutting  subsidies.  Being in the electrical engineering trade, it was quite indigestible for me to agree with this argument.

Commenting on “Who is Mr Prediction in Tech?” and how we went astray! by Krishan

October 4, 2010 was a lucky day for me to catch Rob for a commenting session. I often see this guy with his status “Sleeping” on gTalk, so I hesitated to hit him for a session as Greg was always an easy target.  However, my luck was in and I managed to catch up with him.  A long list posts without any of comments was available on IIJ dashboard, so it was difficult to select one immediately.

It was again Greg who I could catch for commenting session on 21st of Sep. I don’t know where ppl have gone! I don’t see Kat, Bassem, Grace online any more. First I thought may be my timings don’t match theirs, but even after a couple of emails I didn’t get any reply. Malini is occasionally there but too precarious to start a session without Debbie’s prior approval.

I finally managed to do some commenting with Greg on Thursday 16th September, and I feel happy to have caught up with the commenting, since being on holiday! Nothing beats walking in the hills of North Wales, but I have to say, that it is great to be back down in the world where I don’t have to drive 6 miles down the road to get a signal on my mobile phone!

Quick comments: the dilemma of topic selection, comprehension and logical reasoning! – by Krishan

It’s quite easy to get someone to schedule a chat session with you for joint comments on articles, but when it comes to selecting topic, it’s a  really mind blowing part of the process.

Filled with doubts as to whether I would be able to find a resource supporting my argument against a statement in the article, it really is a most difficult step. That’s why I left the choice up to Malini in our last session dated September 8, 2010.

Amazing Coupling of Thoughts

It’s incredible how our brains work, how our thoughts go from one thing to another. This is how I came up with an idea for the story finding exercise I have done today.

When I was younger, about 15-20 years ago, I had an idea for cool – in my view back then – t-shirt. I thought about a clothing, that would have a square screen on front and some small kind of cameras on back. This way, any person looking at you would actually see what is behind you, giving him/her a feeling that you are transparent. Heh I know, it might look a bit naïve now, but was an absolutely cool stuff for me back then.
